Projects in Software Mind are mostly based on a three-tier architecture and are performed by teams of 4-5 persons and last from 2 to 6 months. Every development team has a dedicated Project Manager, Technical Leader, Analysis, and Testers.
The tools we use while executing our projects, include:
- JEE, .NET, OOA/OOD, SOA, AJAX methods
- NLP, Semantic Web
- Application Server (WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, itp.)
- Business Intelligence & Data Mining (Microstrategy, SAS, Business Objects)
- RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL, Sybase, SAP)
- Mobile technologies (Symbian, SIMToolkit, J2ME i inne)
- Open Source Tools
- Certificate of Training: MS, SUN, BEA, Plumtree (MCP, MCAD, JCP)
- Software Process Improvement: CMMI, XP
Owing to the company’s unique competences, Software Mind SA has developed an international project implemented with the use of Garlik semantic technology, and currently carries out the WeKnowIt project on behalf of the European Union, the project’s consortium showing the way as a technology leader.
Garlik – technological innovation
Protection of personal data and privacy is a growing problem in the era of computers and the Internet. Garlik - a new idea from the creators of Egg (the Britain’s first and now the largest online bank), including Tom Illube and Mike Harris - will give people an innovative tool that allows them to monitor their own data, available in various places, databases; also on the Internet.
This innovative solution, using the latest achievements in such areas as natural language processing, semantic data analysis and distributed computing on a massive scale (models based on Google’s experiences) will enable customers to control data and intervene when the data is in the wrong place or incorrect. The project goes beyond the technology itself. The customer will have access to lawyers and experts fighting for the customer’s rights, and the information gathered by the company will not be sold to anyone.
Software Mind has been on the project from the very outset, doing most of the research. In cooperation with experts from a university so prestigious as the University of Southampton, Software Mind builds the platform’s key components. As the main system’s main contractor, we are passionate about developing one of the first and largest commercial applications of the Semantic Web - a technology that will certainly revolutionize the world of IT in the years to come.
Tom Ilube on working with us: ‘I can guarantee that even with my Egg world-class development team I would have spent twice as much money, had a team twice the size and still be only half as far along as we are today‘ - www.garlik.com
WeKnowIt - semantic web & collective inteligence
As part of the collective intelligence area, the Company participates in a consortium of ten international firms and research centres which execute the WeKnowIt project commissioned by the European Union.
The primary purpose of the project is to develop innovative technologies to enable a multidimensional analysis of data originating from different sources. The line-up of the consortium executing the project includes such international corporations and renowned research centres as: Vodafone Panafon - Hellenic Telecommunications Company SA (Greece), Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) (Greece), The University of Sheffield (UK), University of Karlsruhe (Germany), The Sheffield City Council (UK), Brno University of Technology (the Czech Republic), University of Koblenz-Landau (Germany).
Software Mind SA has joined the WeKnowIt project consortium as a company with unique competences and experience in Semantic Web technology. The Company’s task is to develop a unified model and platform for the integration of multiple varied tools.: Since the project is closely connected with the analysis and correlation of data from multiple different sources (phone, voice, video, text), semantic technologies will form a basis for the performance of such advanced analyses - http://www.weknowit.eu/
