Software Mind has received the PTI award for innovativeness in IT

The Software Mind SA company has received the prestigious Jan Łukasiewicz award for innovativeness in IT. The prize is awarded by the jury of The Polish Information Processing Society (Polskie Towarzystwo Informatyczne) during the 26th Autumn Meetings of the Polish Information Processing Society  (XXVI Jesienne Spotkania Polskiego Towarzystwa Informatycznego) which was held on 19 October at the Gołębiewski hotel.
PTI_za_innowacyjnosc_100.jpg The Jan Łukasiewicz award is aimed to promote innovativeness in IT, honouring the authors of the greatest achievements in IT and to promote their achievements in the public and business sector. The winners will be selected based on reliable rankings and independent scientific work and research & development audits in the IT field.

 

Jan Łukasiewicz, born 21 December 1878 in Lviv, died 13 February 1956 in Dublin, professor of the Lviv University, University of Warsaw and Dublin University College. A logician, philosopher, one of the creators of the Polish mathematical school (so called the Lviv-Warsaw School). The creator of Polish Notation (1920) and the basics of Reverse Polish Notation - a mathematical notation of arithmetical equations commonly used by programmers to this day.

 

Software Mind SA carries out the research and development work in the field of semantic technologies and IPTV technology. In 2010, the work resulted in the commencement of two commercial projects based on the IPTV technology and a three-year international project in which Software Mind SA has been playing the role of technological leader in the field of Semantic Web.

Software Mind SA has been constantly cooperating with international research centres which include among others: AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) (Greece), The University of Sheffield (United Kingdom), The University of Southampton (United Kingdom), University of Karlsruhe (Germany), The Sheffield City Council (United Kingdom), Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic), University of Koblenz-Landau (Germany).

Software Mind carries out the research and development work from its own resources and resources obtained from the EU funds and programmes.
